Early Learning and Child Care
Depending on the age of your child, the classroom daily schedule may vary slightly. Infant and Toddler care consists of individualized eating and sleeping plans with physical development supports like cuddling, tummy time, and a ballet bar for pulling-up practice. We also offer sign language (ASL) activities, sensory art projects, music exploration, and the encouragement of friendships for social development. As they enter the two- and early-three-year-old stages, the depth of educational activities, creative arts, and physical support also increases.
The Preschool and Prekindergarten academic portion of the day is from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Each morning starts with a group activity we call circle time, where children are welcomed and the day’s activities are explained. Our classrooms are designed with early learning in mind, so you’ll see the room set up with a variety of learning centers, a library, and a dramatic play area. For our school-age children, there is before and after care, as well as summer camp.
We Understand
The importance of finding the perfect place to bring your child while you are at work.
Core Values
Safe
The first component of every day is providing a safe environment. We have the highest standard of integrity when carrying out best practices and licensing requirements for our industry.
Educational
We provide quality care and education by using loving, creative and purposeful means through our research based curriculum, milestone reviews and professional development.
Intentional
The activities and materials used to care for and educate our students will have meaningful purposes for their growth.
Collaborative
We consider and value the input of our team members and families to support the needs of our students.
Community
We are supportive, helpful, and professional within our team and with our customers. Our goal is to provide an excellent childcare and preschool experience that feels inviting, supportive, and like an extension of the home.
The Curriculum
We use the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies, Second STEP, a social-emotional curriculum, and weekly themes to guide children’s cognitive, social, and physical development. We provide a blended learning approach with center-based and teacher-led activities in the following areas: Language and Literacy, Social, and Emotional development, Fine and Gross Motor Skills, Nature and Science, Creative Arts, Early Math, and Physical Health practices. Although early education is at the heart of what we do, it wouldn’t be successful if we didn’t make play just as important. Young children explore their world through play, and we know it has a pivotal role in supporting life-long learning.
We Create
A portfolio of your child’s work each year they spend at Learning Lodge West. It highlights their progress and accomplishments.
We Provide
Care and education for children starting at six weeks of age. We have two preschool classes (3–4 years) and two pre-kindergarten classes (4–5 years). We also offer before/after care and summer camps for school-age students attending elementary school. For our students six weeks through pre-kindergarten, we offer parent-teacher conferences where teachers share student growth and achievements.
Our learning environment is balanced with developmentally appropriate learning centers and teacher-directed activities. We also include Spanish exploration, music, and physical education classes. It is a full day of learning with meals and before/after care.
Specialist Programming
We also include enrichment programming as part of our tuition. It includes physical education, music classes and sign language. Our 3-5-year-old students also participate in social-emotional classes, Spanish, and Physical Education that includes Zumba and Yoga.
